Merely by keeping a Rule of Thirds grid superimposed on your camera’s or smart phone’s screen, you are constantly reminded to compose the shot in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. It’s easy to just see a shot, raise the camera, and snap it. The Rule of Thirds grid makes you take that extra second to think about and adjust the composition. Even if you choose to ignore the rule and stick the subject dead center, you’ll have done so for a reason after considering the options. This is a quick and easy way to improve your photography and ingrain good shooting habits.
